DenguCare Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026  ·  Applies to the DenguCare mobile app (package com.loonslab.dengucare)

Short version: DenguCare stores your health records — temperature readings, medication doses, fluid intake/output, blood report values, dengue test results, and any photos you attach — directly on your device. We do not run our own servers that receive this data, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers or analytics companies.

1. Who we are

DenguCare is developed by Loonslab. This policy explains what information the DenguCare app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have — for anyone using the app to track dengue-illness care, whether at home or while admitted at a hospital ward.

2. Data the app collects

DenguCare is a self-tracking tool. Everything below is entered by you (or a caregiver using the app on your behalf) — we do not pull data from any external source.

CategoryExamples
Profile information Name, sex, date of birth, weight, height, existing medical conditions
Illness tracking Fever start date, temperature readings, paracetamol doses logged
Fluid balance Drinks logged, IV fluids (ward mode), urine output
Lab results Blood report values (platelets, haematocrit, WBC, and related counts), dengue test results (NS1/IgM/IgG/PCR)
Photos Photos of lab report slips you choose to attach to a blood report or dengue test entry
Warning signs Warning signs you mark as present (e.g. severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting)

We do not currently collect precise location, contacts, browsing history, or any data automatically in the background — the app only records what you actively type in, select, or photograph.

Account sign-in

DenguCare's current sign-in screen is a placeholder for a future account system and does not send any credentials to a server. If a real account system (with Google, Apple, or phone-number sign-in) is introduced in a later version, this policy will be updated first to describe exactly what that involves.

3. How and where data is stored

All of the information listed above is stored locally on your device, in a private, app-only SQLite database. DenguCare does not operate a backend server that this data is uploaded to, and we do not have remote access to it.

Because everything lives on your device, if you uninstall the app, switch phones without transferring data, or clear the app's storage, your DenguCare records — including any attached photos — are permanently deleted. See the Data Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.

4. Device permissions

PermissionWhy it's requested
Camera Only used when you choose "Take photo" to photograph a lab report and attach it to a record. The photo is saved on your device; DenguCare does not access the camera at any other time.
Photos / media library Only used when you choose "Upload file" to attach an existing photo of a lab report to a record.
Notifications Used to show the hourly hydration reminder you can turn on in Settings. See section 5.

You can grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device's system settings.

5. Notifications

If you turn on hourly hydration reminders, DenguCare schedules a repeating local notification directly on your device using your operating system's notification system. This does not go through any push-notification server operated by us or any third party — the reminder is generated and delivered entirely on-device.

6. Sharing and third parties

DenguCare does not:

The only way your data leaves your device is if you personally choose to show, export, or photograph your in-app "Doctor Report" screen to share with a healthcare provider — that sharing is entirely under your control and happens outside the app.

7. Your control over your data

Because we don't hold a copy of your data ourselves, there is no separate "delete my data" request to send us for data already on your device — deleting it locally is complete removal. Full instructions are on the Data Deletion page.

8. Children's data

DenguCare may be used by a parent or caregiver to track a child's illness. In that case, the profile information (e.g. weight, date of birth) is entered by the adult using the app, stored locally under the same rules as any other DenguCare data, and is never transmitted off the device.

9. Security

Your records are protected by your device's own app-sandboxing and, where enabled, your device lock screen (PIN, pattern, biometrics). Since DenguCare has no server component, there is no DenguCare-operated database that could be breached remotely — the primary thing to keep secure is physical/lock-screen access to your device itself.

10. Not a diagnostic tool

DenguCare is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. It is a personal record-keeping and reminder tool. If you experience severe symptoms, seek immediate emergency medical care rather than relying on the app.

11. Changes to this policy

If how DenguCare handles data changes — for example, if a real account system or cloud backup is introduced — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly. We'd encourage checking back here occasionally, especially before a major app update.
